Wizkid who is ready to drop a no-feature 10 Track Album titled “Made In Lagos”, has given hint of him leaving the popular Japanese-America owned Sony Entertainment Record Label. wizkid took to Twitter to share hint of the gospel.
See his post below:
"Damn!! Ma nigga free! We back baby!"
Sony deal was the major reason Davido was not able to perform to his peak in 2016, it messed up his career that he later admitted that he didn’t deserve any Award in 2016. Renegotiating the deal, he stated that he was back to the basics of being a pure Nigerian artiste, after sacking his then manager, Kamal Ajiboye, who has been at the centre of pulling the deal through.
After renegotiation of the deal, Davido indeed went back to basis and had a better 2017. Wizkid has somehow been affected by the deal by not dropping songs with the local sound which most of his fans really adore. Now a days, he only release local songs on songs he’s been featured.
Anyways he gained alot under the label, by winning prestigious awards in 2017, including the MOBO International Award beating the likes of Jay-Z, Cardi B, Kendrick Lamar and others, it was also due to his hard work and strategic skills. But that won’t help him for long since he’s loosing what he has at home.
For wizkid to drop his 10-track Album with no feature and local sound, he’ll need to opt-out of the Sony Deal before releasing the Album. So this may not be as a surprise to many, especially those who are familiar with the Music Business.
