The Nigerian Afrobeats star walked the D&G runway alone, just before the supermodel, Naomi Campbell at the Men’s Fashion Week in Milan Italy on June 16. Wizkid showed off his modelling skills suited up in D&G black ensemble built up with a polka dot white t-shirt, and a studded face mask. Stefano Gabbana styled the 27-year-old artiste himself.
Also, the Nigerian-British rapper, Tinie Temper also showed up for the guest stars modelling at the show which also included actress; Monica Bellucci.
- The reasons our stars represented at this historic event (Wizkid being the first Nigerian born entertainer to walk for D&G) was because the show in particular, is a homage to diversity.
- It is also the most recent move from Italian designers working hard to get new clientele and appeal to Millennials.
- The diversity and inclusion of Wizkid has allowed this designers to reach across geographies, generations and income levels.
- It was a show that wanted to advocate the concept of inclusion and fashion for everyone. The Inspiration for designers Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana was DNA Evolution so the show had also featured ordinary people both heterosexual and gay couples, even a couple with a kid and grandmothers all walking the runway at the very show.
- The atmosphere was conducive for the Wizkid brand. The collection did not only feature a lot of numerous prints and embroidery but the sounds playing were very festive and vibrant.
